Coupeville man held after 1-car crash injures 2

OAK HARBOR — A Coupeville man was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and drunken driving Monday night after two passengers were injured when his car struck a telephone pole.

The crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. Monday near Ault Field Road and Summit Boulevard, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The driver, 43, was not injured. He was booked into the Island County Jail.

Two Oak Harbor men, 26 and 54, were taken to Whidbey General Hospital for their injuries.
