COUPEVILLE — An elderly man was killed Friday morning while trying to cross Highway 20 near Coupeville.
The Washington State Patrol identified the victim as Everett W. Coffman, 77, of Coupeville.
Coffman was attempting to cross the highway around 5:45 a.m. near the intersection with Sherman Road, officials reported.
He was struck by a 1977 Ford F250 pick-up driven by an Oak Harbor woman, 39. She wasn’t injured.
Traffic was detoured around the crash scene for several hours. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
