MONROE — Police are looking for a man who broke into a pickup truck while the owners were in an attached travel trailer. The owner fought with the suspect before the man ran away.
About 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a couple was eating lunch in their trailer parked in the 19600 block of U.S. 2, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
They saw a man smash the window of their pickup and try to take a global positioning system, she said. The pickup’s owner confronted the man and a struggle followed.
The man, who police believe is 18 to 22 years old, is described as white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with short dark hair.
He dropped the GPS and ran off, Willis said.
