EVERETT — Get treated to a lunchtime concert this summer, courtesy of Snohomish County government.
Free shows are returning to the county’s downtown campus on Wednesdays as part of the Music On The Plaza series. The concerts last from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mission Mountain Trio is plucking some old-fashioned bluegrass for the July 6 intro. Indie rock band Sepals is in queue to grind out the Aug. 24 finale.
Here’s the full lineup, and the county’s description of each act:
July 6: Mission Mountain Trio, old-fashioned bluegrass
July 13: Rikers Island, jump blues and swing
July 20: Camille Bloom, feisty, soulful rock
July 27: Massy Ferguson, Americana roots
Aug. 3: Magazine, classic rock
Aug. 10: Wild Snohomians, rock and roll with Americana roots
Aug. 17: Nathan Arneson, edgy modern country
Aug. 24: Sepals, gritty indie rock
The address is 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Vendors will sell fresh flowers, kettle corn, burgers and brats.
The musicians include some local talent. Not only are many of them from these parts, three of them even work in the county buildings that surround the plaza where they’ll be playing. They are: deputy prosecuting attorney Christopher Sedgwick of Sepals, trucking and intermodal operations supervisor Steven McMahon with the Mountain Mission Trio, and public works employee Jette Markstrom with the band, Magazine.
