ARIEL — Classes have been canceled Friday at Yale Elementary School near Ariel because the school ran out of water.
The school in the Woodland School District in Cowlitz County had a new water system installed last month, and the pump wasn’t set at the correct rate to keep the tank filled.
The Columbian reported that the tank ran dry Thursday.
Superintendent Michael Green says everything is working now, but after running dry, the system has to be tested for bacteria.
He hopes the school will be open Monday.
