MILL CREEK – Highway 527 is expected to be reopened by 4:30 p.m. today after a head-on crash sent two people to the hospital.
The crash happened about 1 p.m. The highway had been closed between 151st Street SE and 153rd Street SE while officers collected evidence and the vehicles were towed away.
A pickup truck headed southbound crossed the center median planter and slammed into a northbound van, Mill Creek police spokesman Steve Winters said.
Both drivers were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. The men were in stable condition, Winters said. A passenger in the van was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
