INDEX — A crash Monday morning blocked all lanes going both directions on U.S. 2 at Index-Galena Road.
Just before 10 a.m., a car crashed into a power pole and rolled over, said Washington State Patrol trooper Kelsey Harding. Two people were taken to EvergreenHealth Monroe. The extent of the injuries was unclear.
The Snohomish County Public Utility District was at the scene dealing with the power pole.
The state Department of Transportation urged drivers to expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible.
By 11 a.m., traffic was alternating on U.S. 2, causing continued delays, but a bit of relief.
The crash initially led to gridlock on U.S. 2 from east of Sultan through through Index, according to state traffic maps.
