EVERETT — Crews continue searching near Vesper Peak for a 27-year-old woman who failed to return from a day hike more than a week ago.
Samantha Sayers was alone when she went out on Aug. 1. She is described as an experienced hiker who had climbed the peak before.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Friday it had its helicopter in the air looking for her as well as a vessel cruising the shoreline of Spada Lake. Teams also continue reviewing high-definition photos and videos that King County Sheriff’s Office drones took on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office has said another hiker saw her at lunchtime the day of her hike at the 6,220-foot summit, and that she had walked to the south, rather than east back to her car.
