Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from throughout Snohomish and Island counties, provided by police:

Everett

  • 2100 block of Pacific Avenue, Nov. 13. An employee reported that a company truck was broken into. The passenger side window and a mirror were broken and the ignition damaged. A jacket was stolen. Estimated damage: $300.

  • 9900 block of 12th Avenue W., Nov. 14. An Everett man reported his van’s window was broken and tools and equipment were stolen. Estimated loss and damage: $1,375.

  • 10700 block of Evergreen Way, Nov. 14. A maintenance worker reported seeing two boys prowling cars and discovered that a car’s window was broken and the glove box was ransacked. Officers were unable to find the boys.

  • 200 block of 74th Street SE, Nov. 15. Police arrested a 17-year-old Everett boy on King County warrants for first-degree assault and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and on suspicion of possession of marijuana. A 16-year-old Everett boy was also cited with suspicion of criminal mischief and possession of marijuana.

  • 112th Street SW and Airport Road, Nov. 15. Police arrested a 34-year-old Monroe man on a warrant for heroin possession and on suspicion of heroin possession. A 40-year-old Everett man was also arrested on a warrant for third-degree driving while his license was suspended and on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • 800 block of SE Everett Mall Way, Nov. 16. An Everett man reported that the steering column of his Honda was damaged in an apparent attempt to steal the car. Estimated damage: $100.

  • 1700 block of Colby Avenue, Nov. 17. An Everett woman reported that $25 worth of coins was stolen from her home.

  • 2500 block of Howard Avenue, Nov. 17. Items were reported stolen from a car and the car’s window broken. Estimated loss: $135.

  • 2800 block of Broadway, Nov. 17. Police arrested a 43-year-old Marysville man on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and a 21-year-old Marysville woman on suspicion of theft from Volunteers of America and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • 2300 block of Fulton Street, Nov. 18. An Everett woman reported that her car was broken into and her car stereo and CDs were stolen. The car’s dashboard was also damaged. Estimated loss and damage: $1,000.

  • 100 block of Madison Street, Nov. 19. A woman reported that her window was broken by boys throwing rocks. Estimated damage: $75.

  • 700 block of SE Everett Mall Way, Nov. 20. A man reported that his cell phone and work clothes were stolen from his unlocked car.

  • 1300 block of Chestnut Street, Nov. 21. An Everett man reported that his car was pried open and a CD player and CDs were stolen. Estimated loss and damage: $475.

  • Beverly Boulevard and Scenic Drive, Nov. 23. An officer cited at 30-year-old Stanwood man for alleged drunken driving, speeding and driving without insurance.

  • 2800 block of Grand Avenue, Nov. 23. A rock or piece of concrete was thrown through an apartment complex office window. Estimated damage: $200 to $500.

  • 2100 block of 38th Street, Nov. 24. An employee reported that a company van was broken into and its ignition damaged.

  • 32nd Avenue and Rockefeller Avenue, Nov. 24. An officer cited a man for possession of marijuana.

  • 1300 block of 100th Place SE, Nov. 25. A leaf blower, a pressure washer and a rotary hammer were reported stolen. Estimated value: $2,050.

  • 1900 block of Wall Street, Nov. 25. A 33-year-old Everett man, an inmate at the Snohomish County Jail, allegedly assaulted another inmate who was serving him dinner. The suspect was then also booked into the jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

    Snohomish County voters continue to approve most school levies, bonds

    The Monroe School District operations levy, which was failing after initial results, was passing Thursday with 50.4% of the vote.

    Kayak Point Park construction to resume

    Improvements began in 2023, with phase one completed in 2024. Phase two will begin on Feb. 17.

    Everett to pilot new districtwide neighborhood meetings

    Neighborhoods will still hold regular meetings, but regular visits from the mayor, city council members and police chief will take place at larger districtwide events.

    Crashes, speeding down near Everett traffic cameras

    Data shared by the city showed that crashes have declined near its red light cameras and speeds have decreased near its speeding cameras.

    Everett proposes law to help close unpermitted food carts

    The ordinance would make it a misdemeanor to operate food stands without a permit, in an attempt to curb the spread of the stands officials say can be dangerous.

    Lynnwood reconsiders Flock, discusses immigration resolution

    State ferries to implement 3% credit, debit card surcharge

    The legislature approved the fee last year to help cover the cost of credit and debit card fees. It goes into effect on March 1.
