EVERETT — An Everett man was shot several times after intruders broke into his home early Wednesday.
The 43-year-old man exchanged gunfire with the intruders shortly after midnight at 6024 Broadway, Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant said. The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, Bryant said.
The crime appears to be drug-related, Bryant said. No arrests have been made.

Robbery suspect sought: Everett police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly robbed an espresso stand Tuesday. Police arrested one Everett man, 38, on suspicion of second-degree robbery and are searching for a second, Steven Joe Mestas of Everett. The two allegedly robbed Broadway Joes Coffee, 1532 N. Broadway, shortly after noon Tuesday, Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant said.
Mestas told employees he had a gun and threatened to shoot them, Bryant said. When the employees didn’t cooperate, he attempted to climb into the window and struggled with employees for the cash drawer, Bryant said, adding that one of the employees hit the intruder with the cash drawer before he fled.
Detectives believe the two may be responsible for other crimes in Everett, Bryant said. Mestas, 45, is 6 feet 1 inch tall, 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call 911. People with information about the robbery are asked to call the police tip line at 425-257-8450.
