Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from throughout Snohomish and Island counties, provided by police:

Everett

* 1800 Block of State Street, July 9. Two police officers investigated a complaint of people smoking crack cocaine at Jackson Park. When the officers approached a van, an Everett man, 48, got out and ran from officers. Police caught him and arrested him on a warrant for escape and on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

* 2800 Block of Pine, July 9. An officer investigating suspicious circumstances in the 2700 block of Everett Avenue tried to arrest a Snohomish man, 22. The man ran. The officer lost sight of the man. A search of the area found the man hiding under bushes in the 2800 block of Pine

* 9400 Block of 18th Avenue W., July 9. An Everett man reported that a computer, musical instruments and a car stereo were stolen from his home. Loss: $5,300.

* 3200 block of Hoyt Avenue, July 10. An apartment window was reported broken in an apparent burglary attempt.

* 2400 block of W. Marine View Drive, July 10. An Everett man, 26, in a 1941 Chevrolet was cited with reckless driving after he sped through a red light at 62 mph, failed to stop at a stop sign and almost caused an accident.

* 2700 block of Wetmore Avenue, July 11. A woman reported that her purse was stolen from her unlocked car. The purse was returned, but two debit cards, seven credit cards, her driver’s license and her Social Security card were missing.

* 9200 block of Holly Drive, July 11. A man reported that his shed was broken into and a floor jack, hand tools and paintbrushes were stolen. Loss: $285.

* 1700 block of Hewitt Avenue, July 12. The owner of the La Manna Cafe reported that she’d found a counterfeit $20 bill in her cash register. She did not know who may have used the bill. Police impounded it.

* 3200 block of Lombard Avenue, July 13. An Everett man, 38, reported he was assaulted by another man, 29, because the man suspected him of stealing from an apartment building laundry room. Police issued the younger man a citation for assault.

* 1500 block of 25th Street, July 14. A girl reported that a passenger window was broken in a Volkswagen Jetta. Nothing was stolen. Damage: $300.

* 2900 block of Rucker Avenue, July 14. An Everett man reported his 1985 Renault stolen after leaving his car windows down and the keys in the ignition. Police later stopped the car and arrested the driver, 47, of Langley, on suspicion of second-degree theft. The car was returned to the owner.

* 300 block of E. Casino Road, July 15. A clerk reported that a driver pumped $11.22 worth of gas into his Ford Focus and left without paying.

* 4900 block of Evergreen Way, July 15. Police arrested a man, 35, on suspicion of felony harassment after he threatened a QFC employee when the employee questioned the man about shoplifting.
