Crime watch

Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from Snohomish County, provided by local police:

Arlington

  • 20000 block of Olympic Place. Two boys allegedly stole beer from a store. Police cited them for third-degree theft and for being minors in possession of alcohol.

  • 165th Place NE. A man driving a suspected stolen car collided with another car. Both drivers were injured. The driver of the stolen car was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

    Stanwood

  • 7400 block of 272nd Street NW. On March 13, police escorted a 16-year-old student off campus. The student was in trouble for allegedly refusing to follow directions during the Washington Assessment of Student Learning exams.

  • 8000 block of 272nd Street NW. On March 13, a 22-year-old Stanwood man allegedly assaulted and threatened his girlfriend. Police sent the case to Snohomish County prosecutors and recommended felony harassment and fourth-degree domestic violence assault charges.

  • 7400 block of 272nd Street NW. On March 12, police stopped a 15-year-old Camano Island boy for smoking a cigarette. They also found alcohol in his backpack. They sent his case to prosecutors, recommending that he be charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.

    Everett considers ordinance to require more apprentice labor

    It would require apprentices to work 15% of the total labor hours for construction or renovation on most city projects over $1 million.

    Jury deliberations begin in the fourth trial of former Everett bar owner
