Crime watch

Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime reports from throughout Snohomish and Island counties, provided by police:

Everett

* 2300 block of 22nd Street, Feb. 27. An Everett man reported that wheel rims, snow tires and tools were stolen from his locked garage. Loss: $3,300.

* 8400 block Evergreen Way, Feb. 28. A gas station employee reported two men about 20 to 30 years old entered the store about 12:30 a.m., picked up four packs of beer and left without paying. The men were seen leaving in a tan 1980s or 1990s Chrysler.

* 200 block of E. Casino Road, March 1. An employee of Labor Ready found two safes in the lawn in back of the office. Both safes contained passports and other personal documents. An officer contacted the owners of the safes. Each said their safe was stolen from their homes.

* 6700 block Berkshire Street, March 2. Police responded to a car prowl reported at 6:08 p.m. A witness reported he had yelled at a man he noticed sitting in his neighbor’s 1986 Ford Mustang. The man, dressed in a blue cap, jeans and blue coat, ran from the area with something under his jacket. An investigation revealed the ignition system had been destroyed and audio system components valued at about $325 were missing.

* 1500 block of Broadway, March 3. Police responded to a report of a man throwing bricks through the windows of the Country Farms fruit stand. Police found an Everett man, 63, flopping around on a desk with his legs caught in Venetian blinds. Police suspected the man had been drinking. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary. Estimated damage: $500.

* 2000 block of Tower Avenue, March 3. An Everett man reported his backpack was stolen while he was inside the Everett Community College bookstore. The backpack contained the man’s prescription medication, laptop computer and school books. The value of the stolen items is an estimated $1,670.
