Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from Everett, provided by police:

* 6300 block of Cady Road, Jan. 20. A break-in was reported at a duplex, causing $200 worth of damage to a doorjamb. The duplex owner was unsure if anything was missing.

* 1000 block of W. Casino Road, Jan. 20. An attempt was apparently made to break into a garage at Victoria Park Condominiums. Police found pry marks on the door and also adjacent garage doors.

* 2900 block of Rockefeller Avenue, Jan. 19. An Everett woman reported that her Honda Civic was keyed, causing an estimated $150 in damage.

* 7600 block of Beverly Boulevard, Jan. 19. A wooden doorframe at a closed mini-mart was reported damaged in an apparent burglary attempt. No one entered the building.

* 1000 block of 112th Street SE, Jan. 17. A woman reported her 1992 Ford Taurus stolen. Her son later found the car parked nearby in the 11200 block of 19th Ave. SE. There was no apparent damage to the car and nothing was taken from it except the license plates.

* 3700 block of Hoyt Avenue, Jan. 16. An Everett woman reported that her purse was stolen from her car. The purse contained makeup and personal documents.

* 4100 block of Rucker Avenue, Jan. 15. Police arrested an Everett man on suspicion of forgery after he allegedly tried to pay for soda and gas with a counterfeit $10 bill.

* 2600 block of Walnut Street, Jan. 15. A clerk reported that two teenagers stole four 18-packs of beer valued at $61 from a Shell station.

* 2300 block of 63rd Street SE, Jan. 14. An Everett man reported that his CD player, CDs and debit card were stolen from his car. Estimated loss: $315.

* 6700 block of Evergreen Way, Jan. 13. A cash machine was reported stolen from Patty’s Eggnest restaurant. The glass door of the restaurant was apparently broken by a rock.

Just before 1 a.m., Everett police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2600 block of Wetmore Avenue.

On Monday, Edmonds police arrested the 46-year-old after a student’s parents found inappropriate messages on their daughter’s phone.

South County Fire chief announces retirement

The Board of Commissioners has named Assistant Chief Shaughn Maxwell to replace Chief Bob Eastman in February.
