“Middle School”
Of course, I had to start my speech by thanking my family, friends, and especially my teachers for supporting me in every aspect of my life.
As Dr. Suess once said, “Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!” Middle school was the most awkward time for us. Being young we were still trying to discover who we were. Middle school was where we built our foundation for high school. It was our first time having multiple classes, locker buddies, pep assemblies that we decked out in various colors of red, black, and white, going to dances listening to songs like “Call Me Maybe” or “Dynamite”, having our first flip phones or keyboard phones, and even doing sports like Track or Volleyball. Transitioning from our elementary years to middle school was a big movement for ourselves looking back, and going through that experience is what made us who we’ve become today. Don’t forget to always be yourself, no matter who you meet or wherever you go. Without the support system that we receive from teachers, family, and friends, we would not be sitting in these seats. Middle school is where we learned the basics of who we are, but high school is our next step. “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose!” (Dr. Suess)
