EVERETT — A Sohomish County jury was to resume deliberations this morning in the case of Victor David, a Marysville man accused of abusing his wife for years on a filthy sailboat.
Jurors spent the day behind closed doors Tuesday without announcing a verdict.
David, 60, is charged with second-degree assault for allegedly beating his wife, Linda David, 52, for years on the decrepit sailboat the couple shared with up to seven large, German shepherd dogs.
The case went to jurors Monday after nearly a month of testimony.
Linda David was pulled from the boat in 1997 after a state social worker checked on her welfare and found her covered with scars and filth. She suffered brain damage and now lives at a Lynnwood nursing home.
Victor David has blamed accidents and illness for his wife’s condition.
