MARYSVILLE — A man who was struck and killed by a freight train near the 10800 block of Smokey Point Boulevard on Saturday night was from Marysville, officials said.
Police were called shortly before 10 p.m. to the site.
The man, whose name has not been released, was struck by a 75-car Burlington Northern train. Police said they believed he was 28.
In a press release, Marysville police said the man stepped into the path of the train.
Railroad officials and Marysville police are working together on the investigation.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the death.
