SPOKANE — The death toll from a wind storm that struck Spokane County last November has climbed to four.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office said Monday that two men died of hypothermia after the storm left tens of thousands of residents without power for days in Eastern Washington.
That’s in addition to two Spokane County women who were killed by falling trees during the storm, when wind speeds of more than 70 mph were recorded.
The medical examiner says one 70-year-old man died at home of hypothermia after he became incapacitated from a heart attack. A 66-year-old man died after he had a stroke and was unable to seek help.
