Democrats in the 1st Legislative District plan a training session Saturday for volunteers to help with the March 26 precinct caucuses.
Democrats say that they need volunteers to help at locations throughout the district to avoid a repeat of the chaos that they had with an overwhelming turnout in 2008.
The 1st Legislative District includes most of Mountlake Terrace, all of Brier and Bothell, unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell, north Kirkland, and unincorporated areas of King County between Bothell and Kirkland.
The training session is Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Bothell Library.
Washington Democrats will choose delegates to their presidential nominating convention through the caucuses.
The caucuses choose delegates to legislative-district caucuses, which pick delegates to county conventions, which choose delegates for congressional district conventions, which send delegates to state and national conventions.
Washington Democrats do not recognize results of the May presidential primary.
