WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich filed articles of impeachment Tuesday against Vice President Dick Cheney, saying Cheney manipulated and fabricated intelligence on weapons of mass destruction to justify the Iraq war.
However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said impeachment is off the table.
Earlier Tuesday, Kucinich said he would delay filing papers until the outcome of Cheney’s medical appointment Tuesday became known. Later Tuesday, doctors who saw Cheney said the blood clot in his left leg is slowly getting smaller, and the vice president was given an upbeat assessment.
