Deputies investigating body found off Highway 9 in Cathcart

The death of the 56-year-old man from Olympia is not currently considered suspicious.

CATHCART — The body of a 56-year-old Olympia man was found Wednesday morning off Highway 9 in Cathcart, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

A passerby reported finding the body just before 6:30 a.m., sheriff’s spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe said.

So far, the man’s death does not appear to be suspicious, or the result of a homicide. Sheriff’s deputies were still investigating, O’Keefe said.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office did not include a cause or manner of death in its initial news release.
