GRANITE FALLS – A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy remained hospitalized in Seattle after he crashed into a tree Thursday night.
The deputy is in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center, sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Brand said Friday.
He suffered significant injuries and underwent surgery, Brand said. No other details about his injuries were available.
The deputy reportedly crashed into a tree about 8:35 p.m. in the 18400 block of Engebretson Road.
He was flown by helicopter to the hospital.
The deputy has been with the sheriff’s office for about 3 years. He works out of the north precinct in Marysville.
Brand said he didn’t know if the deputy was driving to an emergency call.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No one else was hurt in the accident.
