SEATAC — A King County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a robbery suspect Thursday morning outside a mosque at SeaTac.
Sgt. Cindi West said the suspect was driving toward another deputy when he was shot.
The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a shoulder wound. No deputies were injured.
West said the incident began about 8 a.m. when a man arrived at the mosque to pray and found a man sleeping. The sleeping man awoke, punched the victim and took his wallet and car keys.
The victim was able to call 911, and deputies had just arrived when the suspect drove at one.
After he was shot he crashed into a neighbor’s yard and was arrested. West said he has documented mental health issues.
