OAK HARBOR — Island County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a Renton man they believe sexually assaulted a 15-year-old Oak Harbor girl Friday.
The suspect had met the victim through a mutual friend several weeks ago, Island County sheriff’s detective Ed Wallace said. The girl only knows the suspect as “Vicente.” He is described as Hispanic, about 29 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
The girl’s mother arrived home Friday and saw the man running from the house, Wallace said. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
Detectives did find a cell phone apparently belonging to the suspect. A second cell phone was found in the victim’s room that she said was a gift from the suspect. This phone contained several images of a man the victim identified as Vicente.
Anyone who knows the identity of Vicente or where he might be is asked to call the Island County Sheriff’s Office at 360-679-9567.
