Detectives investigating a large identity theft ring want to hear from potential victims, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office released a list of more than 40 people who might have had their identity stolen by Scott Christopher Moughton.
Moughton, 40, was arrested last week in a Bothell apartment in the 18900 block of Bothell-Everett Highway after two alleged mail thieves identified the apartment as a location where stolen U.S. mail was brought.
Thomas F. Sproul, 46, also was arrested after sheriff’s deputies and federal officials served a search warrant on the apartment.
Investigators found 40 pieces of stolen or false identification when they raided the apartment, including passports and other documents from California, Oregon, Colorado and Washington, court papers say.
Moughton has been charged with 15 felonies relating to identity theft, possessing false identification, making counterfeit licenses and possessing stolen checks.
Detectives are attempting to locate the victims. The following people are asked to call 425-744-6873: Carolyn L. Anderson, Pamela B. Mertens, Ryan J. Morris, all of Lynnwood; Mary C. Frasier, Stephen E. Moore, Aaron G. Rice and Sharon M. Rose, all off Bothell; George R. Fuller, Samuel S. Perez and Natalie Spoelstra, all of Everett; Miles A. Price of Arlington; and Virginia M. Green of Snohomish.
Additional names can be found on the sheriff’s Web site at www.co.snohomish.wa.us.
The list will be updated when additional victims are identified.
