Donate food and get health screening

Valley General Hospital’s sports and physical therapy department will offer a free body fat screening for those who bring in two nonperishable food items to the clinic in the new Sky River Medical Center, 14841 179th Ave. SE, Suite 120, Monroe.

The donated food items will benefit local food banks.

An appointment is necessary. The screening dates are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 21. For more information, call 360-794-1407.

The Sky River Medical Center is across the parking lot from Valley General Hospital in Monroe.

Get your photo taken with Ol’ Saint Nick

Snohomes Realty Inc., will host its third annual Photo with Santa and holiday social from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 809 Croft Ave. in Gold Bar.

Participants will get free photographs with Santa.

Marysville cafe to feed those in need

The Village Restaurant plans to feed up to 300 people in need from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at 220 Ash St., Marysville.

Owners of the restaurant have invited people to enjoy a turkey dinner with pumpkin pie.

Members of the Marysville Lions and Kiwanis clubs, Marysville First Assembly of God, and customers and employees of the restaurant have volunteered to help serve and clean up.

Santa will also visit, with gifts for children. The restaurant can seat 100 people.

Visitors center taking toy donations

The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau’s Visitor Information Center in Lynnwood is a donation drop-off site for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.

The center is in Lynnwood’s Heritage Park at 19921 Poplar Way in the historic Wicker’s building on the east side of I-5. Drop donations off between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Get help with drug plan in Snohomish

The Snohomish Senior Center is hosting a free Medicare Part D enrollment workshop from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave., to help seniors select a medication benefit plan.

Volunteers will work one-on-one with those 65 and older to help determine if they need to enroll and, if so, what programs will meet their specific needs.

Appointments take approximately 30 minutes; reservations are required.
