EVERETT — The South Everett Neighborhood Center will host several donation drives through Tuesday night at 6315 Fleming St. as part of its annual National Night Out celebration.
The center asks that Night Out participants bring in canned and nonperishable foods. All food donations go to the center’s emergency food bank.
The center also is asking for new backpacks with school supplies. The “Get Ready For School” back-to-school drive helps underprivileged families and kids make sure they have the supplies they need for the first day of school. Appropriate supplies include notebooks, binders, notebook paper, crayons, glue sticks and rulers.
The center also will accept used cell phones and cash donations. Working cell phones can be reconfigured and donated to those who can’t afford a phone but might need to call 911, such as domestic violence victims.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
