WATERVILLE — A Douglas County sheriff’s deputy, who was once decorated as officer of the year, has been suspended for twice having sex with a woman while he was on duty.
The Wenatchee World reports that Sheriff Harvey Giesdal suspended deputy Scott Stokoe without pay for 160 hours and removed him from the department’s “Honor Guard” for disclosing he had consensual sex with a woman who was not his wife.
Giesdal ordered Stokoe to seek counseling.
According to the suspension order, Stokoe had sex with a woman while on duty, and drove her around. The letter says Stokoe did not fill out a required liability waiver form for the woman.
Stokoe was named the department’s officer of the year in 2007.
