Downtown Snohomish fire deemed suspicious

SNOHOMISH — Police here say a fire that broke out at a downtown business Thursday morning is suspicious.

An employee called 911 about 9:30 a.m. after she discovered smoke coming from the building in the 1200 block of Avenue D, Snohomish police Cmdr. Fred Havener said.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, and damage was minor, he said. Police are investigating and consider the fire suspicious.
