BATTLE GROUND — A Clark County fire official says a 75-year-old woman out to celebrate her birthday at a restaurant crashed into the front of the building instead but no one was hurt.
The Columbian said that Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy reported the driver, her passenger and customers inside the restaurant all escaped unharmed. He said customers scattered Tuesday when the driver first hit a sign outside Keo Thai Cuisine.
Battle Ground city spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti said the woman was pulling into a parking space when her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. The woman’s name was not released.
The car plowed through some glass but Gilberti said inspectors determined the building was structurally sound after the crash.
Police are investigating.
