MARYSVILLE — One person died and another was injured early Friday when a northbound car left I-5, shot down an offramp embankment, and hit another vehicle on a city street, Marysville police reported.
The incident occurred about 2:40 a.m. at the Fourth Street offramp from I-5.
The driver of the car that was headed west on Fourth Street was taken to an area hospital with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening.

“Unfortunately the driver of the car that was (northbound on I-5) and left the roadway died on scene,” police said on Twitter.
It was not immediately known why that driver lost control.
The intersection at Fourth Street and I-5 was closed for hours while police investigate, but reopened about 6 a.m., in time for the morning commute.
