REDMOND — Redmond police say a driver has died after losing control of the car, launching it over a parkway and crashing into a tree.
KOMO-TV reported that the driver crashed early Monday morning after speeding toward Lake Sammamish Parkway. Neighbors say the car flew by their homes and would have landed in the water if it didn’t hit a tree first.
Police say the driver was ejected from the vehicle before it burst into flames. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
Firefighters put out the flames before the spread to nearby areas. Redmond police say the car will likely be removed by barge because it is so close to the water.
