EVERETT — It took the man about four minutes before he stopped trying to outrun police.
A Washington State Patrol trooper in Marysville saw someone driving down State Avenue without a seat belt. When the trooper tried to pull the man over, he jumped on southbound Highway 529, officials said.
Traffic on the highway was light, and the man reportedly drove about 75 mph before pulling over moments later. He surrendered about 2:22 p.m.
A 24-year-old man was later booked into jail for investigation of eluding police, driving with a revoked license and a warrant for fourth-degree assault.
