FAIRBANKS, Alaska – When in a pinch, blame it on the dog.
That’s what Donald Davison did after flagging down a trooper near Coyote Trail with his tale of misfortune, authorities said.
Davison, 61, reported that he was driving down Murphy Dome Road on Saturday when his dog jumped in his lap. He said that caused him to drive off the road.
The trooper didn’t think the mishap was the dog’s fault. He determined that Davison was intoxicated and arrested him. Davison was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center, his 1997 Dodge Dakota was impounded and his dog was taken to the animal shelter.
