SNOHOMISH — A driver had serious injuries after a dump truck and passenger car collided Tuesday afternoon on Highway 9.
The crash happened around 1:20 p.m. near the Bickford Avenue overpass. A Nissan Sentra was driving west on Avenue D and allegedly did not heed the right turn only sign. The Washington State Patrol said the Nissan driver pulled out in front of the dump truck, which was southbound on the highway, resulting in the wreck. The car’s driver had serious injuries, and the dump truck driver’s injuries were not life-threatening. Both drivers were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Highway 9 was closed, and drivers were urged to take different routes.
