Gov. Gary Locke Friday named South District Court Judge Stephen Dwyer Snohomish County’s newest Superior Court judge.
He was one of four applicants in the final running to replace Judge Joseph Thibodeau, who retired early this month.
Dwyer, 46, of Edmonds, has more than 22 years of legal experience, reaching the District Court bench in Lynnwood in 1994.
Since then, he’s received numerous awards from state lawyers and judges.
A former Edmonds City Councilman, Dwyer has live in Edmonds all his life.
