Two collisions in east Snohomish County are making for a tough drive in to work this morning.
A car crash has blocked both directions of Highway 9 at the Snohomish River.
Drivers are being detoured onto Marsh Road, state officials said. Still, it’s not a great option because Seattle Hill Road remains closed because of flooding.
State crews are on their way and need to put sand on the roadway. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes.
The accident occurred at 5:20 a.m.
Nearby, traffic also is snarled on U.S. 2 because of an accident that also blocked traffic in both directions.
The eastbound lane is now open and is being used to alternate traffic from an accident that occurred at just after 5 a.m. The eastbound lane opened at 5:52 a.m.
The highway was shutdown for nearly an hour before the one lane opened, state officials said. Expect delays and a long backup. Highway 522 is suggested as an alternate.
