EDMONDS — Police are looking for a woman accused in a carjacking in Edmonds on Thursday night.
The suspect approached a 17-year-old girl, who is believed to be a student at Edmonds Community College, at the campus in Lynnwood.
It was raining, and the woman asked for a ride to Swedish/Edmonds hospital, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said. The girl agreed to give her a ride and drove about 12 blocks to the hospital. When they arrived, about 5:15 p.m., the woman told the girl she had a gun and to give up the keys. No gun was seen.
The girl, who is from Mountlake Terrace, refused, and a fight broke out, Hawley said. Eventually, the woman forced the girl out of the car and drove off. The girl had minor injuries from the fight.
As of Friday morning, police still were looking for the car, a red 2015 Subaru Impreza, Washington license plate AWP1969. Anyone who sees it is asked to call 911.
The woman was described as being in her 20s or 30s. She had blonde hair, worn in two braids, and a black, puffy jacket.
