EDMONDS — Fire officials say a garage fire Sunday morning was started by discarded smoking materials.
Firefighters were called about 11:30 a.m. to a house in the 800 block of Poplar Way, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. Neighbors reported smoke coming from the garage and the roof.
Crews extinguished the flames quickly. No one was hurt.
Investigators ruled the fire accidental and estimated damage at less than $10,000, Hynes said.
