EDMONDS — An Edmonds man, reportedly angry that someone parked in his spot, has been arrested for investigation of assault after allegedly pointing a handgun at a cable TV worker.
Edmonds police were called to a condominium complex in the 18700 block of 76th Avenue on Saturday after receiving a parking complaint involving a weapon.
When they arrived, officers noticed a truck blocking a service vehicle belonging to the cable worker.
The man said he was working on a line for a cable contractor when he saw the suspect, 31, pull up behind his vehicle.
The worker said he was going to back out of the stall when he saw the driver get out of his truck and go inside a condo unit.
The suspect then reportedly appeared on a balcony above the worker and yelled to him that he was in his parking spot.
He allegedly took out a handgun from his waist, racked a round in the chamber and pointed it at the worker.
The worker said he feared for his life and ducked for cover behind a vehicle.
As the cable worker was trying to run away, the suspect reportedly yelled at him again. The worker said he looked up to see the suspect allegedly had armed himself with a second weapon, perhaps a rifle or a shotgun.
When officers spoke with the suspect afterward, he reportedly said he was mad that people park in his spot.
Officers reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
They also found a loaded handgun in his holster with a round in the chamber, court papers said.
The suspect was arrested on his 31st birthday. He was taken to the Snohomish County Jail and was being held on $50,000 bail.
