Edmonds mayor Dave Earling says that he expects to nominate a candidate to replace Municipal Court Judge Douglas J. Fair by early December.
Fair ran unopposed in the Tuesday election for a position on the South District Court.
Snohomish County officials plan to certify results Nov. 25.
Earling said last week that several well-qualified candidates had expressed interest in the position.
Earling’s nomination would go to the city council for confirmation.
Fair has said that he plans to resign in early January.
The appointed judge would serve through the 2015 election.
