EDMONDS — An old pineapple grenade was dropped off at the Edmonds Police Department on Monday afternoon. No one was hurt.
A woman from unincorporated Edmonds was cleaning out her husband’s things when she found the explosive, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said.
She loaded the grenade into her car and drove it to the police station around 2 p.m.
The station and Edmonds Municipal Court were closed for nearly two hours until the Washington State Patrol bomb squad collected the grenade, Hawley said.
Edmonds officers ask that if anyone finds an explosive device they call 911 and wait for a bomb squad.
“We want to disturb it as little as possible,” Hawley said.
