EDMONDS — Westgate Elementary School in Edmonds was put into lockdown Thursday afternoon while police looked for a suspected burglar.
About 11:45 a.m., a woman interrupted a burglar entering her home in the 22500 block of 98th Avenue W., Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.
The man ran away, and the woman wasn’t injured.
The school lockdown was a precaution as police searched the area.
The man was described as white and in his 30s, with dark brown hair and a mustache. He was about 6-foot with a thin build.
The man was last seen wearing a green and black plaid shirt and light-colored pants.
