A day-long Read Across America celebration is planned March 2 in Edmonds to help raise money for Edmonds School District libraries.
The event includes guest readers, photo opportunities with the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2, drawings, discounts and more. The first stop on the tour is Revelations Yogurt, 527 Main St. Children can listen to book readings anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. A “Cat Walk” scavenger hunt map will list other participating businesses downtown.
Revelations Yogurt will donate 10 percent of sales for the day.
Other sponsoring businesses in Read Across America are the Edmonds Bookshop, AXA Advisors, Horace Mann Insurance and the School Employees Credit Union of Washington.
The Edmonds Education Association and the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation organized the event.
Community members who want to donate can make checks payable to the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation, earmarked for Read Across America, and mail them to the Edmonds PSF, P.O. Box 390, Lynnwood, WA 98046.
