EDMONDS — Police are warning neighbors and asking for tips after a woman found a stranger in her bedroom in Edmonds early Thursday.
It happened about 3:30 a.m. at an apartment along Highway 99, just north of 234th Street SW, according to a news release.
The woman woke up, and the man ran away with her wallet, Sgt. Shane Hawley said. It was not immediately clear how the man got into the apartment.
He was described as black, bald and in his 30s. He was about 5-foot-6, skinny, and wore a white shirt and dark pants, according to police.
With some warm weather left ahead, people are reminded to keep doors locked. If windows are cracked, keep a dowel or something else in place to “prevent them from being opened all the way,” Hawley said.
Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact Edmonds police at 425-771-0200 or EPDtips.edmondswa.gov.
