EDMONDS — A Lynnwood teenager reportedly made threats with a knife Tuesday morning outside Edmonds-Woodway High School, sending the campus into a brief lockdown, according to police.
A student tried to stop a fight around 9:20 a.m. on the front steps of the school, said Edmonds Sgt. Shane Hawley. A boy, 16, responded by threatening the student with a knife. The boy with the knife ran off, and the school went into lockdown while police searched for him.
Minutes later the teen was arrested a few blocks away. He was armed with throwing knives, according to Edmonds police.
Officers booked him into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett for investigation of second-degree assault, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds. He’s not a student at the school.
