SPOKANE — Law enforcement officers in the Spokane area have raided eight suspected brothels.
The businesses mostly operate as day spas and massage parlors. They are believed to have been front organizations for a widespread prostitution ring. Six homes belonging to the owners also were searched.
Spokane police said the raids began simultaneously Tuesday at noon.
Several arrests were made in conjunction with the raids. Suspects are expected to face money laundering, criminal profiteering and prostitution charges.
The investigation was led by the Airway Heights Police Department.
