ABERDEEN — A missing elderly couple from Tenino have been found about 100 miles away in a remote area of Grays Harbor County.
Sheriff’s officers say 92-year-old Henry Morgan and his 89-year-old wife, Lavonne, were found Wednesday afternoon. They were last seen around noon Tuesday and their grandson reported them missing Tuesday night after checking their usual restaurants and routes.
Undersheriff Rick Scott tells KIRO that a passerby found Henry Morgan hypothermic and barely conscious in a ditch near Lake Wynoochee. He was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
The couple’s daughter, Paula Luedke, says hypothermia and dehydration are causing problems with his kidneys.
Deputies searching the area found the couple’s pickup truck in a ditch and Lavonne Morgan in nearby brush. She too was taken to the hospital. Luedke says her mother is very cold but otherwise doing well.
Deputies say Henry Morgan apparently tried to walk for help after their truck went off the road.
