Senior Services of Snohomish County and other nonprofit agencies will host an outreach event for older adults from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.
The goal is to inform and educate people in eight languages about the resources and services available to seniors and their families.
The Ethnic Elders Resource Fair will focus on three main topics in English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.
* 9-10:30 a.m.: Legal information on immigrant rights and benefits, including government programs and community resources.
* 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.: Medicare and how the rollout of Medicare prescription drugs coverage (Part D) will affect the ethnic elderly.
* 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.: Family caregiving resource programs to help those caring for the elderly.
In addition to the workshops, there will be door prizes and a free lunch.
