Here are some events planned to honor Martin Luther King Jr.:
Bothell: Contribute to The Dream Wall on Tuesday at the University of Washington’s Bothell campus, 18115 Campus Way NE. An area of The Commons is set aside for folks to share their dreams for the campus, the community, the nation and the world.
Also, Martin Luther King Jr. speeches will be broadcast beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Everett: Residents at Evergreen Manor, inspired by President-elect Obama’s call for a “day of service,” will pick up trash today at Union Slough. Evergreen Manor offers chemical dependency and domestic violence treatment.
Langley: Volunteers are invited to join the staff from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Good Cheer Food Bank, 2812 Grimm Road, Langley. Volunteers will gather to work at more than 5,000 different places around the country in memory of Martin Luther King Jr. For more information, call 360-221-6454.
Monroe: Members of the Boys &Girls Club of Monroe will clean up around the East County Senior Center today in King’s honor. Club members recently competed to see who knew the most about King.
Seattle: Hear readings of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches at 2:30 p.m. today at Center House Theatre at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St.
